A Night Out With Tommy Cooper: Jus’ Like That!

Assembly Hall, Edinburgh

A marvellous play on the life and work of the late great Tommy Cooper, ably portrayed by Clive Mantle. While he could never visually be the man himself nor carry the giant’s natural charisma to full effect, Mantle put in a good effort with voice and mannerisms, clumsy magic routines and dramatic behind-the-scenes performances and the audience were kept warm with nostalgia for a comedy legend.
