Lachlan Werner: Voices of Evil
Pleasance Courtyard, Edinburgh
Werner’s alter ego, the comically foul-mouthed witch Brew, quickly takes the spotlight, guiding her shy human companion into a wild occult ritual. The ventriloquism is impressive, but it’s Werner’s physical comedy that really captivates: subtle shifts in posture and movement create a range of quirky characters. The show features audience interaction, demonic possession, a spoon, and a striking transformation at its core, all masterfully managed by a performer who knows just when to let a silly idea unfold before pushing it to something even weirder. Beneath the humour and campy horror lies a touching story about self-acceptance and realizing that your inner demons can be helpful. An extraordinary and unique performance that was shortlisted for the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
